FAQ's
What happens during an Ultra Facial?
Your appointment begins with an assessment of your skin and your individual concerns with the built in analyser tool. We then select the most appropriate combination of technologies and skincare for your treatment.
The treatment can include cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, infusion and skin-revitalising techniques, depending on what your skin needs on the day.
Is the Ultra Facial suitable for sensitive skin?
It can be, but suitability depends on your individual skin and its current condition. Treatment settings and products can be adapted for more sensitive or reactive skin.
A skin assessment before treatment allows us to determine what your skin can tolerate and which elements of the treatment are appropriate. Our oxygen set protocol has also been designed with sensitive skin in mind.
Will I see results after one treatment?
Many clients notice that their skin looks cleaner, fresher, smoother and more hydrated immediately after treatment.
For longer-term improvements in skin quality, we recommend incorporating UltraFacial into a personalised treatment plan alongside appropriate homecare. Results will vary depending on your skin condition and concerns.
Is there any downtime?
Ultra Facial is a non-invasive treatment and generally involves little to no downtime. You may experience temporary redness, particularly if exfoliation or extractions are included.
Your skin will be assessed and your aftercare advice tailored to the treatment you have received.
How often should I have an Ultra Facial?
There isn't one schedule that suits everyone. Your recommended treatment frequency will depend on your skin goals and whether we are working on hydration, congestion, texture, ageing or general skin health.
For some clients, Ultra Facial can form part of a regular maintenance programme, while others may use it alongside more advanced treatments like Mezotix & Skinpen within a longer-term skin plan. As a general term with skin treatments we recommend every 4-8 weeks but this does also depend on what you are doing in-between at home.
Can I have an Ultra Facial before an event?
Yes. It can be an excellent option when you want your skin to look fresh, hydrated and radiant without significant downtime. However, if it's your first treatment, we recommend having it sufficiently in advance of an important event so we can see how your skin responds.
Can I wear makeup after my UltraFacial?
We generally recommend allowing your skin some time before applying makeup, particularly after exfoliation or extractions. Your practitioner will advise you based on exactly what has been performed during your appointment, but makeup on the same day us not recommended.
Is Ultra Facial the same as a traditional facial?
Not quite. A traditional facial may focus primarily on cleansing, exfoliation, massage and a mask. The Ultra Facial combines advanced technology with professional skincare, allowing the treatment to be adapted much more specifically to your skin.
Can UltraFacial be combined with other treatments?
Potentially, yes. The treatment can form part of a wider skin programme, but what can safely be combined depends on your skin condition, previous treatments and current homecare.
This is why we don't simply recommend treatments based on what is popular. Your skin is assessed first, and your treatment plan is built around what it actually needs.
