What is SkinPen?
SkinPen is a professional microneedling treatment that uses a precision device with sterile, single-use needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural healing and remodelling processes, helping improve the appearance of acne scarring, texture and skin quality.
Is SkinPen painful?
Most clients describe the treatment as a mild buzzing or prickling sensation. A topical anaesthetic may be used to make the treatment more comfortable.
How long does a SkinPen treatment take?
The treatment itself is approximately 30 minutes, although your appointment will be longer to allow for consultation, preparation and aftercare.
Is there any downtime?
SkinPen is considered a treatment with relatively little downtime. You may experience redness, warmth, tightness, dryness or mild peeling afterwards, similar to a mild sunburn. These effects generally settle over the following day or two. Its important to follow the aftercare advice & not apply anything other than the aftercare serums provided for 24 hours post treatment.
When will I see results?
Some clients notice an improvement after their first treatment, but SkinPen results develop progressively as the skin remodels. A course of treatments is generally recommended for optimal results, with improvements continuing for months following treatment.
